REPRESENTATION

APEM engages with all the decision makers (politicians, civil servants, etc.) involved in the interests of its members.  We are actively working for the emergence of a viable ecosystem for our music. For us, the fair remuneration of publishers and the songwriters they represent is fundamental, as well as the promotion of our culture and the respect for the rights of all. Support programs for music publishing also come to the forefront of our efforts.

We are concerned with the review and implementation of the Copyright law of Canada, the regulatory environment surrounding the dissemination of musical works, the monetization of digital file exchanges, the collective management of rights, the Copyright Board Tariffs and other topics.

Whether it is through international, regional and/or local events and forums, APEM makes sure to be visible and represented.

APEM is a member of various organizations such as: Association littéraire et artistique internationale (ALAI), Association des juristes pour l'avancement de la vie artistique (AJAVA), International Confederation of Music Publishers (CIEM-ICMP), Coalition des ayants-droits musicaux sur Internet (CAMI), Coalition for cultural diversity (CDC), the Music Policy Coalition (MPC, ACCORD), Compétence culture, le Conseil des ressources humaines du secteur culturel, Culture Montréal, Music :) Ally and l'Institut de l'image et du son (INIS).
